Falls Prevention Workshop

Description

This course will introduce you to the main risk factors contributing to falls and guide you through some gentle exercises and preventative measures we can each apply to reduce our risk of falling. Your participation will assist in promoting flexibility, muscle strength and balance, and will assist you in all aspects of wellbeing, not just at work.

Week 1: Monday 23 March 2026 4hrs

Face-to-Face Workshop – KU Alfred Children’s Centre

  • Initial assessment
  • Health education
  • Exercise education

Week 2:

  • Access to pre-recorded exercise sessions
  • Supervision of Home Exercises by PhysiApp
  • 1-hour tele-triage as required

Week 3:

  • As per week 2

Week 4:

  • As per week 2

Week 5: Monday 27 April 2026 4hrs

  • Post program assessment

Please wear loose fitting clothing that would allow you to participate in moderate exercises.  Low heeled shoes with non-slip soles are essential.

To complete this course, you must attend both workshops and participate in the home exercises over the 8-week period.
