Description

This professional learning opportunity uses a proactive approach to promote positive socially responsible behaviour and to build knowledge and understanding of children’s emerging social competence, including preventing and responding to challenging behaviour in young children.

 Guiding Children’s Behaviour training, focuses on providing a framework to understand and respond to children’s behaviour in the context of Early Childhood Education (ECE) settings. Key concepts include:

−      Understanding child development in relation to children’s behaviour

−      Reflecting on practice relating to social and emotional wellbeing and environments that promote children’s emotional security, wellbeing and development

−      Understanding physical environments that are responsive, safe and inclusive

−      Developing skills to interpret and respond to individual children’s challenging behaviours

−      Developing individualised plans that promote safety, reduce challenging behaviours and increase Educators responsiveness
