NSW Health and Safety Representatives 5 Day Initial Training
Description
This course is for newly elected health and safety representatives at NSW workplaces who have requested approved training and who have not previously undertaken the 5-day SafeWork NSW course for HSRs.
This course will provide participants with information and skills to assist HSRs carry out their roles and functions under the NSW WHS Act and NSW WHS Regulation, including:
- An understanding of WHS legislation
- An understanding of their roles as elected HSRs
- The knowledge and skills necessary to use their additional powers under WHS legislation to issue Provisional Improvement Notices and direct that unsafe work cease.
Course Timing: 5 days, 9.00 am – 5.00 pm each day. Participants must attend all 5 days to successfully complete this course.
Enrolment: Enrolment closes 10 days prior to course commencement. Please note: Names and contact details of course attendees will be notified to SafeWork NSW by the trainer in accordance with the requirements of the NSW WHS Act and NSW WHS Regulation.

Evidence of Identity: Participants must provide evidence of identity to the trainer on Day 1 of the course to gain entry. The attached document outlines acceptable evidence. Participants who do not provide this evidence on Day 1 will be refused entry to the course. This is a SafeWork NSW requirement and cannot be waived by the trainer.
Recognition of Prior Learning: Not available for this course.
