Circle of Security Parenting - Classroom - Group 2 KU Braddon
Description
The Circle of Security Classroom is an adaptation of the COS Parenting program. This training has been developed to meet the needs of educators and children when working with the Circle of Security framework.
The Circle of Security Classroom course aims at supporting educators with practices based in all the principles of the attachment theory.
The course explores the social and emotional relationship between the educator and the child. It assists educators to become more attuned to meeting children’s needs and helps them in understanding and responding to children’s behaviour. It will also explore ways educators can do this that support secure attachments.
Each session will use a combination of video clips and group discussions which will enable educators to have a greater understanding of children’s specific emotional needs using the Circle of Security Map. The series of eight sessions will explore what educators can do to help children manage their behaviour.
Completing this course educators will be supported and offered guidance that will enhance their abilities, improve their confidence and competence especially when working with children who have challenging behaviour.
.” COSP- C Quote: “Teaches educators to gain more awareness of the underlying social and emotional needs communicated by behaviour and more confidence to meet the attachment needs within the relationship.”
