But what is a ‘statement of philosophy’, how do we create something that is meaningful, and how do we keep it front and centre of our practice? In this 2-part series you will explore and debate these questions.

Completing The what why and how of philosophy will contribute 3 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and assessment of NSW Curriculum/Early Years Learning Framework addressing Standard Descriptor 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher in NSW.

Jan Faulkner
Jan has more than 35 years’ experience in the early childhood sector as a teacher, centre director, manager of children’s services and as a professional learning consultant. She also worked with a number of service types including long day care, preschool, outside school hours care and family day care.
Fran Bastion
Fran’s engagement in the early childhood education sector spans over 30 years. Fran’s work is currently anchored in the exploration of the role of teacher as researcher, inquiry-based teaching and learning, pedagogical documentation, and the language of the learning environment.
