Tuning in to Interoception - the hidden component of regulation

Recommend course:

Description

Do some children seem to have big reactions to seemingly small things? Do they seem to “get stuck” at times?

These challenges may relate to interoception - the internal sensory system that gives our brain information about our body’s internal state and emotions.

Join us for an evening of networking as we:

  • Discuss the role interoception has on emotional regulation and behaviour, and the interplay with executive functioning.
  • Share some examples of children with difficulty understanding their body’s interoceptive messages.
  • Learn practical ways to help children tune in, understand what their body needs, and take steps to address this need.
  • Practical and playful strategies to boost executive functioning skills and regulation at preschool
