Reflecting on the Sensory Environment at Preschool

Recommend course:

Description

At our last inclusion networking meeting, we shared a sensory environment audit tool, which many services have considered.

At our next term 1 meeting, we encourage you to bring along your thoughts on your preschool’s sensory environment. As a group, we will bring together our observations and ideas about what is working and share ideas for potential sensory adjustments.

Your KU Preschool Inclusion Consultant will also provide some general information and facilitate reflection about how our senses can be affected by the environment.

This workshop aligns with the National Quality Standard:

QA 1: Educational Program and Practice

QA 2: Children’s Health and Safety

          QA 3: Physical Environment

          QA 5: Relationships with children

QA 6: Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities

N.B. This professional development activity can be used towards teacher identified hours. Teachers need to record this activity in their NESA logbook.
