Inclusion Community of Practice - Networking event for Preschool leaders – Ryde/Hunters Hill and Lower North Shore

Recommend course:

Description

Our Inclusion Community of Practice is hosted at a different preschool each term.

We extend this invitation to Preschool Directors and Educational or Inclusion Leaders to network, share and learn from one another through a dynamic discussion on inclusive practices, resources and initiatives in preschools. Join your KU Preschool Inclusion Consultants for morning tea as we connect and celebrate inclusion, share some highlights, and possibly discuss a few practice dilemmas.

This term, we plan to connect by:

  • Hearing the host preschool’s reflection on recent inclusion initiatives.
  • Discussing and sharing policies and communications which preschools use to guide inclusive practice, particularly when working with families, allied health professionals, and considering school exemptions, and focussing on what’s best for the child.
  • Sharing resources, questions, and success stories.
    • Reflecting on practical ways to support inclusion.

This workshop aligns with the National Quality Standard:

  • Quality Area 1, 1.3.1. Assessment and Planning Cycle.
  • Quality Area 3, 3.2.1: Inclusive environment.
  • Quality Area 6: Collaborative partnerships with families and communities.
  • Quality Area 7: Governance and Leadership

N.B. This professional development activity can be used towards teacher-identified hours. Teachers need to record this activity in their NESA logbook.
