KU Staff Only - CHCPRT001 - Identify & Respond to Children and Young People at Risk Training

This is an accredited training course for educators who require accredited child protection training for the position of certified supervisor.

Early Childhood Educators play a vital role in advocating for the protection of children. It will equip educators with the skills required to identify and respond to suspicions of abuse. It is based on the unit CHCPRT001 - Identify & Respond to Children and Young People at Risk from the current CHC Community Services Package.

We will explore:

• Current legislation, including the keep them safe strategy
• Ethical considerations (UNICEF Rights of the Child and Early Childhood Australian Code of Ethics)
• Indicators of risk of harm
• Documenting current concerns and responding to disclosure
